i have a 2 gallon aquarium that i want to use to grow macro algae..
problem is never done a sump.
my 29 gallon biocube has a diy media basket so dont need to put filter floss or anything..
i just want to control nutrients and somewhere to put a protein skimmer.

how can i doit with this tank and how can i doit to throw water from the biocube down and back to the system ?

You could do a HOB over flow. Let the water run down to the tank. Then a small pump to push water back up. You need to leave enough space in your sump so that if your power cuts out, the water coming down does not over flow the sump. Done right, the sump level will rise, but the tank level will fall enough to stop the flow into the sump. You might need to get a bigger tank for the sump. Glass aquariums tend to be cheap. So going with a 5 or 10 gallon would not cost much.
