I am wondering where my sunny d's should be placed? When I got them they only had a bit of orange but they seem to get less and less color. Do they need higher light or lower? I have had them in the lower part of my red sea max and now in the lower part of my 75g. The only time I see any orange color is when a new polyp is coming in:(

They are more light tolerant than most palys and get better color in more light, in my experience. I would move them up a little.

Here is a pic of mine they are in a 34 gal solana and in the middle of the tank on the frag rack. They are currently under Evolution LEds

Also for comparision as some people say sunny d's and vivid rainbows are the same polyp I think they are not. These are vivid rainbows and in the same location in my tank

My sunny ds are higher in my tank too in higher flow as well. They are looking pretty sweet and I will be keeping them there for a long time... lol. They are even popping off babies, about one every 2 weeks..
