Anything Paulo Coelho! He's amazing. One of my all-time favorites is Brave New World as well... I am currently reading The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold.

dont know what you are into, but the LOTR series is very good, as well as the hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkein. Also a book called Fire ad Ice is very good. And i know its cliche but the Divinci Code is well written if you read it from the perspective of its all made up, as well as A&D. just my thoughts.....

If I'm reading fiction I like Stephen King and Michael Crichton. Those are my favorite fiction authors. I'm trying to start reading presidential autobiographies. I'm almost halfway through George Bush Decision Points and it is great. Next is on to the founding fathers.

What style of book do you like to read?

For a quick read in westerns, I love Louis L'Amour - accurate geography and historical research as well.

For fantasy, Tolkein was good, but there are others who are better; I'll have to get you a list when I get home.

Few more . . .

For political/military fiction, Tom Clancy; both Red Storm Rising and The Hunt for Red October were very good.

For fantasy, any of the books by Niel Hancock. If you're interested in British fantasy, try Manda Scott's Boudica series.

REV - get her a Kindle - Best $139 you will ever spend and you'll be her hero and reduce your carbon footprint. Got one for my mother in law this year because her basement is packed full of boxes with books shes read. Luckily shes into army/conspiracy/black ops books so I never have to sift through boxes for a good read. Ludlum and Clancy are my personal faves.

Mrs. REV - I hear good things about the recommendations feature on the Kindle.

Tolstoy, Puskin, Dostoevsky, Gobol are all amazing Russian writers. Fitzgerald is a good American writer. What are you interested in?

For those music lovers here I just finished "Soul Mining" by Daniel Lanois. To those who don't know Lanois is a Grammy winning producer who has worked with U2, Peter Gabriel, Emmy Lou Harris, Robbie Robertson, Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, and many more. An inspiring read from an art minded genius.

Just finished The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas and it was GREAT! I don't know why I haven't read it before. Now I am off to find more of his books.......

Thanks for all the imput.. I've seen the movie Monte Cristo, but never read the book. I'll definitely pick it up, thanks!

BTW I love fantasy, drama, and historical fiction. As long as it is clean. There's nothing worse than buying and getting in to a book just to have to put it down because of language or explicit intimacy! :squigglemouth:
