How often do you need to harvest your chaeto?

Any idea what CaRX you are planning to run?
Honestly it has been 3 months and I haven't harvested -- I'm planning to completely remove it; doesn't really help much on this tank given the fish bioload.

Alk consumption is very low given it's mostly softies. Those few acros don't put that much dent in alk but suspect that coralline algae is a hog. I manually dose alk every 2-3 months if I remember. I had the old Korallin CaRx but that's going to the 175g.

This tank has been on autopilot -- okay, I admit it, a little neglected to focus on the 175g Haddoni tank…until last night! A local reefer (super nice guy) had a tank leak so I offered to purchase all his fish. I’ve scored the following: Gem Tang, Choati Leopard Wrasse, Blue Star Leopard Wrasse, Klein Butterfly, Platinum Clown, and Picasso Clown!

I’m super excited — always wanted a Gem Tang actually. Now I can finally check that box! ;) She is absolutely beautiful and very peaceful.

Since the two leopard wrasses need sand to sleep & hide, I went from BB to sand for this tank! Oh well — I really don’t like sand bottom but feel it’s worth it given two beautiful wrasses (pictures coming soon) - previous owner’s pic is below.

Anyway, I’ve relocated 2 Colorado Sunbursts to this tank to create a home for the clownfish. Besides, the 175g Haddoni tank is getting overcrowded- lol

Admist all this, I’ve managed to catch my beloved yellow tang. She will go to the in-laws this weekend as a birthday gift. I kinda miss her already…
