super market oysters

So I just went and picked up some raw shrimp live oysters and live clams to cut up and feed to anemones and lps. For $2 I got a bag of 5 live oysters. They look exactly like the type you would buy For your tank. Obviously they're cold and on ice so they're not. But it got me wondering why we pay so much for stuff our food store can sell for less than .50.

I buy grocery store nori too. Less than $3 for 10 sheets, the same stuff package with a fish on the label at the pet store is over $10 for less sheets.

These oysters look like thorny oysters. Have macros on the shell (gracialara and ulva) and feather duster calcium tubes on the shells. If they were not on ice I would have added them as livestock! Lol
