Hi.

I've had a coral in my tank for some time now. The coral still had the plug while in the tank until yesterday when I took the plug off of it because I wanted to glue just the coral to the rock. When I applied the super glue to the bottom of the coral and held it on the rock, it wasn't sticking and didn't look like it was ever going to underwater.

Is there something I'm not doing right or an alternative step? I know there's specific coral glues and putties but if this has worked for people I would like it to work for me!

Here's the superglue I used:

Thanks..

It should work, I go to dollar general and buy the cheap stuff, I have also bought coral glue and they both work the same. The key I think is to use way more than what you would think, also put the glue under water and make a big glob then stick the coral in it and hold for a little while.

Is that glue really runny? I use the gel super glue, locktite brand. You need some that has a little substance to it so you can get a glob built up.

We use gel and the standard kind. Just put a big glob on the rock then stick the coral in it a hold. I minute Later and it's done.

You put the big glob on the rock or coral?

Definitely use Super Glue Gel of some sort. I typically use a combination of the gel and putty like https://www.amazon.com/Instant-Ocea...TF8&qid=1484322886&sr=8-1&keywords=reef+putty . Put glue on bottom of frag, place on small piece of putty, put glue on bottom of putty, stick to the rock, give a slight twist. I find these don't get knocked off, but you can remove them with a twist if necessary. This also allows you to mount frags at more extreme angles, and allows you to mount them freely without having to worry about whether they will stay during the glue cure process.
