My Superman montipora appears to be dying back from the bottom of the plug. It’s been in my tank since May and had grown a decent bit. There’s a frogspawn near it, but I would think that possible stinging would impact the top of the monti and not the bottom. Should I consider relocating this plug? I also have several other montis (red cap and several digis) and some easy SPS that are doing well and growing. Water parameters are pH 7.8-8.2, temp 76, alk 9.5, calcium 360, Mg 1340, ORP 340-360, salinity 34, nitrate 2, phosphate 0.06. I got an ICP test a few weeks ago, and everything looked good except low iodine, which I’ve been starting to supplement. I’m changing water 10% every two weeks. I don’t have a skimmer since this is an AIO tank.

Thanks!

You had it since last May and it has not grown off the plug yet? To me, seeing the hammer and zoa's around it, I guess it is in a low flow low light spot. And you also have low nutrients. IMO this coral is surviving but not thriving. Give it light flow and nutrients to make it thrive.

^ this. All the montipora in my tank has at least tripled in size since October.

I moved it to the top of my tank next to a clam and only acro I’ve kept alive. Par should be 300 there with high flow. I’ll update in a month or so on its progress.

So the coral is quickly bleaching out even after being moved. Is this possibly RTN? I just read about that today and seems like antibiotic dips can help. Granted I don’t have amoxicillin or doxycycline on hand. I ordered them but probably will be a week before they arrive.
