I actually got rid of the UCNM it got huge and I ran out of room :crying-face: the shop I turned it into has been cutting it so I can always get one back :)

@MERKEY , I may have asked this before but what shops do you prefer and where are they located? Since I am in Eastern Washington I only get over to the west side to visit my son once and a while but would like to pick up some livestock on my next build. I used to know all the stores but that was about 18 years in the past since I stopped fabrication of aquariums and related to jump into a better business model.

There are 4 in the general area of Bellevue/Renton that I would suggest.

Seaking
Seattle coral
Saltwater city
Barrier reef

They are no where near the size of the Cali or Florida stores but they keep a pretty good revolving stock.

Seaking/Seattle corals is owned by 1 guy and is the one that usually has everything and more lol.

@Lowell Lemon

Seattle Corals does bring in some Fire!
You have the real fire shops in your area, honestly I'd be broke if I live near you haha

Nima is trying to make his shops comparable to the larger names in the game.

He just purchases something like 12 new tanks to redo his main store.

I've even ordered online from them.
Didn't you get a Christmas tree rock from him too?

Yep, and it was doing great until my Dusky ate all the worms :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: I plan to get another after the move once I have the 2 tanks both up and running again. I'll put it in whichever tank the dusky isn't in.

We have a select few QUALITY shops among the higher quantity of shops.

I think you need to come down on a buying spree.....

Thanks for the list. I have been in two of the stores already. I must admit it is hard to get used to buying retail as I used to just order direct from the Los Angeles wholesalers. But that ship has sailed now LOL!

Were these Torches having issues?
Yes...

I got them off a semi local reefer who was losing heads on them. His system is tied together with 3 tanks and I think that played a part of the issue. Lots of swings on the main parameters and he wants to move and sell everything. So it is kind of like a save mission lol I still had to pay for them but it is a fun experiment.

A couple of them were quite old so I didn't want to chop them up completely but I did want to check the insides of the skeleton as I knew something had to be making the heads bail off of the old colonies.

After listening to his dilemma of what's happening to his tanks I realized there was more stress from other his tanks rather than swings... which can lead to internal bacteria when left long enough.

Usually older colonies have grown through little swings here and there and can handle swings fairly well, but over time if the swings are too large and other things are happening to the environment during swings(he had a nem tank plumbed to this one also and had nems dying) the torch can get sick on the inside and bail heads until they are all gone.

I cut into the older colonies at the base and there was indeed dead tissue/bacteria.

It suck but I cleaned them and replied them hole again.

At this point baths are the only thing to hopefully help the torch ingest the meds.

Other colonies had bad recession and TONS OF WORMS
