I thought I'd seen a claw here and there, and caught this hitch hiker with a flash. It's kind of peach colored and has claws with sharp points (bad). Any ID, so I can determine with what haste I try and remove it?

General Invert Forum ID this crab I hope .

He's got the sharp claws, that = very bad boy.

Sure looks mean. Maybe put him in the sump and see what he becomes.

What did you decide to do?

I've had a small jar in the tank for two nights now, baited with shrimp. No luck so far.

I think all crabs are hard to catch. Once they are in the tank they don't want to be caught. They also seem to be able to squeeze in and out of tight places. We think we still have two emeralds and our Sally light foot crabs. Rarely see them, although the Sally' s will eat from our hand.
