Have you ever had a fish that was not "supposed" to be mean and turned out to be a terror? The reason I ask is because I found out my lemon peel that I traded to someone bullied everything in his tank including a damsel. The lemon peel never showed that type of aggression in my tank. It was housed with 2 clowns, a dottyback and a starry blenny. I gave up the lemon peel because it was a coral muncher.

I have a lubbocks fairy wrasse that's pretty cranky sometimes. He's the boss of the tank for sure. Never heard of them being mean before I got this one.

I am a firm believer it has to do with when and how they are introduced to their tank mates. Some fish seem to feel the need to be a bully when added late in the community.
Just my observation over the years. But as with everything else there are exceptions to the rules :squigglemouth:
I'll most likely never own clowns or any form of damsel again....just to dang mean... constantly
