Quick question! Do you guys move corals to lower par if it stop growing or starts to "not look well?"

I have a few pieces that is being blasted with par, fast encrust, then stopped growing. There is little PE
I don’t bc I’m out of space. Will be moving those types to a system add on soon. PE is always amazing in my system though

It really depends on what irritated the coral in the first place. But yes, when I see an acro struggling, I will generally move it to my “hospital/New arrival” area of my frag rack.

it's just so weird that it suddenly stop growing, but then I never really acclimate it that much. All other tenuis are growing nicely around that area, so I'm sorta lost

will move it now! But something else will have to take that spot!

And one more of the grafted pieces...
Got this one from @therman back in September 2021. It’s a good grower. Starting to shoot branches and it’s got some nice marbling going on.

Nice catch! That’s another soon to be posted Speciosa I’ve been cooking since early January. I’m trying to catch him with full PE when I’ve got the camera out but he’s hard to get. He sucks his polyps in right away if there’s even the slightest movement from a snail or a tang pecking...
What’s it been….52 hours? I think we’ve waited long enough.

Ok, here we go! Acquired 1-6-22. It seems to be thriving so far. Has a nice crust growing over the putty ball. This piece survived the trip. Unfortunately, this is about all that survived the trip. 2 big “new release” colonies in this pack didn’t make it... I’m hoping to get a reship in about 3-4 weeks. We are waiting until the overnight temps are a little higher.

Haven’t done anything yet, what do you do about them?
I’ve only encountered them on one wild piece I brought in a couple years ago. I ended up cutting the branch off and throwing it away. Yours appear to be in very difficult places. I’m not sure what I’d do. I considered super glueing mine but was afraid of what a dead and rotting critter inside a coral branch might do.

Very relieved to hear this confirmation. I got fruit loops from you last... April? NY Reefapaloosa. It was the first piece I moved to the display as it has been rocking along real quick.

My wife calls it the "day-glo" coral.
