If it’s very over inflated, it should be pretty easy to spot when the fish is on the light-table. How’s the fish look today... still the same?

I believe you also need to be very careful... you only need a very small amount out, don’t want to pull too hard.

He’s still asleep. He manages to dig itself in the sand bowl each night and pokes his head out when he wakes up. He usually wakes up after I go to work.

From everything I read on this forum - the only survivors of this condition were those who got vented which is why I’m thinking this needs to be done ASAP.

Yes, that’s why I mentioned it. Survival rates are pretty dismal otherwise...

Another update - LA responded back to me and apologized profusely. They said the guarantee is valid until 4/16 (I imagine he will pass by then if I don't treat it anyway) and to keep them up to date on the fish.

They recommended the pea treatment, but I already know what I need to do to truly fix this.

One of the locals in my area has experience in this as they had to lance 3 fish. 2 of them made it through the treatment and the other passed. Unfortunately he's traveling on business and won't be back until the 20th of April, but he provided me his phone and is willing to walk me through what he can with me.

I also contacted the local Vet in my area (he's the only vet in my area who can prescribe CP and specializes in aquatic animals). He was unable to schedule anything until Monday as he's booked with surgeries all week. I feel that is too long to wait.

Well, keep us posted if you decide to give it a try! I know both humblefish and bmw mention the antiseptic being very important, and keeping the water clean and tank dark and as quiet as possible for a few days after.

Unfortunatley with only one QT and with kids that’s going to be impossible.

I have the antiseptics and an armory of ABX though

The tank is “sterile” with it being a fresh QT populated with bacteria in a bottle and was ghost cycled. My kids are all over the place with how young they are and the QT is in a high traffic area. It’s the only place that is further than 10 ft from the display that is not on carpet.

He was poked twice unfortunately. Second time we got it and he deflated.

I used iodine on the insertion spot and immediately dropped neoplex and sulfaplex in the QT.

He’s flat on the tank and breathing, but he’s skinny now

I’m sorry, it’s very unlikely he would have survived long term otherwise... just a much slower, more gradual death.

It was worth a try, and ultimately more humane IMHO.

Ya. I doubt LA would refund me at this point given he’s going to look completely different when I take picture of the body since he’s all deflated now. I almost feel like I shouldnt ask given the procedure I attempted.

I was very paranoid about ordering from their CA warehouse. Looks like I was right. I never have issues with FL and WI shipped fish from them aside from minor issues like internal worms.

All fish in my display are from DD or ORA via LA.

I would just take the picture and send it in... you notified them that he arrived with the issue. I think the refund is warranted, as he wouldn’t have survived at any rate.

Hi there again.

I’m looking back at my video footage when I first got the wrasse. I think it may have been swimming normally when it first got him. I did do a FW dip + rally before he went into the QT.

Can you cause a swim bladder disorder if you dona FW dip?
