Hello Everyone,

Im in the middle of a move and I have to downgrade my 40gallon cube to a 13.5 fulval evo. The 40G right now has two clowns 1 bangai cardinal and 1 coral banded shrimp. The tank aslo has a kenya tre the size of a softball and a few mushrooms.

Im downgrading due to size requirments and simplicity. My schedule has become insane and i dont have the time the 40G requires. I want to move my clowns to the 13.5 and put a few awesome coral/nems to make it home for them. id get rid of the shrimp/cardinal and mushrooms

Im asking for advice on a few things
1. Stocking?- can I keep the kenya tree and add a nem?
2. If i add established media from my cube(has been up and running for tow years) along with rock can i also have a yellow wtchman and pistol shrimp or a mandarin dragonet? (i know copepods)
3. My tank has been in a rut since i haven't been able to give it the time it deserves. nuisance hair algae/ flatworms everywhere and other harmless hitchhikers. I want to really take the time with the new tank to get it right. Something to be proud to show off. Does this mean I shouldnt transfer any rock/sand/media from the old tank? Can I use just the bio balls from the 40G to help with cycling?

I know this is a lot but I appreciate all of your feedback. Good and bad lol. cheers

Kenya Tree yes. I wouldn't keep the anemone, one bad day of chemistry or anemone wandering into overflow or power heads and the system crashes.
2. If i add established media from my cube(has been up and running for tow years) along with rock can i also have a yellow wtchman and pistol shrimp or a mandarin dragonet? (i know copepods)
I wouldn'teven consider a Mandarin regardless of the age of the rock. A Mandarin will knock out that pod population quickly. Clowns mature and become territorial, a 13.5 is too small for other fish. Maybe a Neon Goby but nothing bigger.

Sure you can transfer everything over, but I would get new sand.

Good luck. :)
