T5 nem nano

Anybody running a t5/led hybrid nano tank for just a nem? I have a 20 long sitting around, a 2 bulb reefbrite t5 and a 30” ai blade. Considering throwing together a really simple nem tank would love to see some under t5

I used to run a 90g tank with a nem. Had a Tek 48" T5 array. Worked great. I know mine isn't a nano tank, but that T5 fixture had the nem flourishing. So while I can't speak to the size of the tank, I CAN speak to how well it did under T5's. Actually, the pic I have as my profile background shows how happy it was!

I figured as most things do under t5 it would do well. I don’t know anything about nems really but I’d think that this setup would provide decent par… especially if I could build I big flat spot at the top of the scape for the nem to hopefully call home @PharmrJohn

With nems, you really don't know what (or where) they're gonna like (or end up). Back with my 90, I had so much rock in there the nem didn't really have a choice BUT to call home the front of the tank. Back then, one aimed for about 2lbs per gallon. But with today's recommendations of 1lb per gallon, it could end up in the back of the scape halfway out of a cave, lol. They will move around until they find a place they are comfortable, based mostly on lighting and flow. You can always adjust the lighting and powergead output, which may cause it to move, but again, ya never know where it's gonna end up. But don't let that stop ya. You have an idea that you want to do, then go for it.

Oh! Another thing......Get covers for your powerheads. I've heard too many stories of nems get caught in those things. It always ends badly!
