Hey everyone, as the title suggests I’m looking into adding a LED strip to my 24” 6x24w fixture for my 65 gallon. Does anyone have any experience with a set up like this?

My set up will be front to back
LED strip
Ati blue
Coral plus
Ati blue
Ati blue
Purple plus
Ati blue

I was looking at the reefbreeders lumen bar 24” royal ice 50/50 480nm Cool Blue and 450nm Royal Blue as it retails $120 (considerably cheaper than reefbrites but still open to the idea of them)

Does anyone have experience with this kind of set up or the reefbreeders strip? Pictures are welcome, I just want to get an idea of what expect, thank you.

Reef Breeders has a sponsor forum here at R2R and Logan is the owner (and a friend). If you don't get the help you are looking for here, try asking Logan. You can tell him I told you to ask him.

I went the Reefbreeders route instead of Reefbrights LED strips. Reefbreeders has better LED cree chips for third the price of Reefbrights strips. I've been full circle from most LEDs fixtures (with T5 supplement and just LEDs) over the past years and finally came back to T5s because I wasn't getting the results I wanted with mostly LEDs as my main lights.

When I switched back to T5s I missed the dawn/dusk effect, shimmer/color-pop and programability of the LEDs so I decided to add LED strips to my ATI sunpower. The strips really make a big difference when added to the T5s, bringing back the coral color pop, shimmer and I use it for dawn/dusk.

Corals are much more colorful under T5s w/ LED supp then they ever were under LEDs w/ T5s supp and I love it. That's my experience with them, hope it helps.

Thank you for the information and pictures. I did bounce back and forth, but decided on a new set of bulbs and adding a strip vs $700 for whatever new LEDs are out. I’ll be placing my order in the morning!

You have a gorgeous tank, I hope to get as good results as you .
