Hi All, my name is Hudson and i've been interested in keeping a reef tank for several years but never had the funds, recently my younger brother moved out of my parents place and i've been tasked with reviving his neglected 75 gal system. He started this as a low nutrient system in august '22 and kept up with regular maintenance until mid 2025, and that's about all I know. Ive been giving myself a crash course on testing, H2O changes, parameters, dosing, Etc. been slowing making improvements (installed protein skimmer, better wave makers, started running less intense lighting schedule) and tank is starting to feel alive again. Looking forward to joining such an amazing hobby and becoming part of this dedicated community

Greetings and Welcome to our collective obsession!!

Just realize that things in this hobby go slow. Patience is a virtue. You've got a head start with is very cool. How about a pic of your system!!!!

Welcome to Reef2Reef!!! I encourage you to learn as much about the water as you can because if you can get that part right then you will solve many of the issues that you might have later with fish and corals. Good luck on the adventure!

Dont chase numbers and keep tank stable and follow previous owners maintenance regimen
