Hello everyone! I have a juvenile Bristletooth Tomini Surgeonfish I recently acquired. He picks at hair algae on my rocks all day long and eats my Piscine Energetics mysis shrimp and San Fransisco Bay brine shrimp no problem. I tried Julian Springs red and green seaweed in a veggie clip for him as well which it just will not eat. (Even tried soaking it in Seachem garlic cure) I figured it was just because he was eating enough but I recently noticed him trying to eat this coral I posted a photo of with this post. Some of the research I have done says he may be doing this due to malnutrition. Any advice and opinions would be appreciated. Thank you!

That genus of tangs doesn't always eat nori. You can try it on a rock or pvc pipe instead of the clip. There are frozen and flake/pellet foods that contain greens.

It actually wouldn't be a terrible thing for it to eat that specific coral.

Good luck.
