If the yellow tang is small, then I would say go for it.

I have a 2 1/2 inch Yellow Tang in my 40 Breeder and he loves swimming around.

How do I know? He always holds a sign that says "I love swimming in this nice 40 Breeder."

I've had great success adding many various Tangs to tanks your size. And when they eventually get too large, take them out and trade them in for a smaller one.

I would not get a surgeonfish (hepatus, powder blue etc) and zebrasoma (yellow, purple etc) as they are better suited for six foot or longer tanks.

Don't confuse me with the "tang police" though.
A bristletooth (Kole, Tomani etc) should be fine in a well mantained 70 gallon so long as there is ample live rock to graze.
