It's time for another battle, and this week's showdown is between two of the most easily recognized and popular tangs in the game...

Tangling Tangs: Yellow vs. Blue! Which do you prefer?

Yellow, stays smaller, good algae eater, better shape, doesn’t sometimes eat zoas :p

voted blue as its my preferred/favorite color, but yellow gets the "real life application" vote. if i had the tank size for it, i'd go for the yellow tang.


or maybe powder blue? :)

Both for me but I lost my blue after 5+ years and am afraid to add another and disrupt things since the 8 remaining tangs get along well.

Would say blue but those dang tangs are so hard to keep and Ive had two crash my tank with illness so no more blues allowed in my tank!! Thats why I voted yellow!!

Between those two, yellow gets my vote. I've had both, but I liked both the splash of color and the personality better than the other.

My Regal Tang turned rogue after 6 years and ate a whole colony of zoas for dinner! I have not seen or heard of YT devouring corals.

Have both! Actually have 2 of the Blue's
The yellow is def easier to keep, although it is a bully to anything new in the tank that may resemble a tang.
The Blues are very timid, hide a lot and tend to randomly get spots from time to time! (typical Dory stress head!)

Impossible decision for me.

I’ve never had a tank I felt large enough for a hippo tang, but everyone always asks “WhErE’s DoRyy” lol so maybe someday. I’ve had a few yellows over the years, and they’re always great.

Controversial, but I’d say a blue hippo that eats zoas is a plus
