So I know the general consesus is tangs should not be in tanks less than...some say 5 some say 6 ft deep. Well certain tangs like yellow tangs. Some are ok in a 48inch tank. What I am curious about is depth. I am currently prepping for a 60gal 48x24x12 build... would this be too shallow for fish of this stature.? And what tangs are goid in a 48inch tank?

Most tangs will get too tall for a tank that shallow. A kole tang could work though.

Tangs appropriate for a 48" tank include most of the Ctenochaetus genus, minus hawaiiensis. Yellow and black in Zebrasoma. Convict i Acanthurus.
