Hi All!

Moving on to tank #2. Back in April 2020 I picked up a used Red Sea 250 and it was stocked and all. I basically just moved an established tank about 22 miles in a 4-5 hour period. Never had a chance to clean it out and have been battling GHA & Aiptasia most of the time, especially in the rear compartment (GHA) and sump with Aiptasia. You can see my build thread.
Fast forward to Christmas this year and my wife asked what do you want. Since I never got a chance to “start fresh” I said how about a new tank, something small for upstairs. So I find at Petco with discounts coupons etc.. a Fluval EVO 13.5 for $90 bucks! Yes, I picked up my own gift and wrapped it ;-). So between picking up my gift and Christmas I had to get some supplies. I pick up:

20 Lbs of Caribsea Fuji Pink live sand
3-4 Lbs of Dry rock (I ordered a custom aqua scape that was going to be late)
Dr. Tim’s One and Only & Ammonia

I had everything else, salt, 100W heater and stock the aquarium came with some stuff.

I started the cycle on 12/27/20 with Dr. Tim’s One and Only using his ammonia. I actually totally overdosed the ammonia so it took longer then advised on Dr. Tim’s form to remove all ammonia so instead of adding a fish on day 8 or 9 I waited till day 16 and added a Firefish (still had some nitrite 1.0PPM) My custom scape did come in a couple of days after starting the cycle so I replaced the dry rock with the scape. That probably slowed it down some as well.

Today was upgrade day... After a couple of weeks of collecting these items below.
Chambers 1&2 from D-Flow Designs (in UK)
1/2” D-Flow Designs RFG
Tunze Nano Return Pump
Cut to size Filter Floss
Activated Charcoal packs
Marine Gems
AutoAqua ATO
Chempure Elite packs
Purigen pack
Phosguard pack

1/11/20 Added Firefish (pic to come)

Next upgrade is either a AI Prime 16HD or Kessil A80 Tuna Blue unless anyone has any other less expensive options.

once I get these lights the plan is to move some of my Zoa’s softies and some small LPS here then tear down the Red Sea 250 and properly restart it.
Please let me know your thoughts on CUC and Livestock to add. (I will take some CUC from Red Sea 250). I will have to sell or trade some larger corals and fish during the teardown.

I like your setup, nice looking skulls. Are you planning on encrusting them or letting coralline cover?
I just ordered that ato for mine also, how do you like it?
