So transferred over the rock, and it's...ok. live rock with stuff growing is difficult to place. One rock that would have been good on the bottom had the most life on it, so I couldn't hide it under other pieces. Then I f'd myself with that darn pipe. Really made things difficult to place around. I still need MOAR rock and will be making another order soon. I did find more whelks, 5 total so far. Also a larger brittle starfish left good hiding spot so I was able to scoop it up and I added that to the frag tank. Also at one point there were 3 different types of snails on the glass, one micro tiny astrea snail and another one looked like a baby cerith, plus a limpet I believe. I didn't get pics of the snails because I was rushing to get the rock in.

I'll be adjusting more today. Pictures of rock later.

Aww poor lil guy, I bet you're starving then?

I'm reading expert level for it, red finger gorgonian, right? Apparently likes dirtier water, and with it being for an eel might actually benefit if I can get it to survive.

I have mine shoved into a cave with a little light, medium flow. I feed the tank AB+ and reef roads once or twice a week and mine is growing fairly well.

There's so many filter feeders on this rock I'll definitely need to feed specially for those in addition to the eel's diet.

I've got the lil eel in here now. She's so tiny, it's hilarious. The 2"pipe looks gigantic.

Fed her this morning and dumped a slurry in after for the filter feeders.

I'm pretty positive I heard a tiny snap. I thought I heard one when the rock was in observation, but I didn't see anything during the transfer and I looked over the rock pretty good for additional whelks. It'll have to grow to show itself though so it might be awhile before I know what it is.

I would think so I hear they kind of have attitudes sometimes
Yeah, which I thought might be an ok match for an eel. Plus it's a carnivore so I should be able to train it for the same frozen foods I'm offering the eel?

I'm hoping to add things in here I wouldn't add to my other tank. For fun variety.

Who's this? Friend or foe? Snail of some type, with a whole array of hitchhikers on its shell. But after it mowed down a really cool orange tunacate I'm wondering what it is and if it's a keeper or not.

Wow this thing held on so hard it took a layer of rock with it.

Bottom still holding the rock it took with it.

Maybe a bobbit worm? Very tiny ATM, and definitely had a creepy face. Gonna try to trap it with my bristle worm trap.

In the video, it's off center just to the left. I used my phone cameras light so it was in the way.

So, live rock is wild. Always something new to look at and to wonder what the heck it is.

Newest what the heck. Long whispy strands that initially look like hair, but then it catches something in the water column and then you realize it's alive. These come off rock is some places and of the tips of macro algea on others. What is it?

In the video I had a hard time getting the lense to focus on it, but I was able to get an upward angle. Some of these are really long, 6" plus, and have multiple strands coming off the main long strand.

Spaghetti worm
Really? I thought spaghetti worms had more pronounced extendy bits? I'm pretty sure I have those in different areas of the rock. Whatever this is seems to love the tips of macro algea. It reminds me if the activity of vermetid snails sending out the mucus webs for food. But it's so faint and hard to see. Either way, weird ocean critters for sure
