So, I know its not the norm to decorate marine tanks with things other than rocks and coral.

however, me being me, I love to decorate! But I need your help/advice.

As most of you have seen, I've upgraded from my BioCube to a big tank. we have it set up to have LOTS of passageways for the fish. but to fit its name, I'd love to place a few crystals though out the tank.

This is where I need your expert help. I have been looking at the fake crystals and also natural crystals.
but i want to make sure its safe to put in the tank.

any advice on what way to go or how to protect my tank while adding these would be a great help.

thank you :)

Hmmm. I'd be skeptical of anything that wasn't made of glass or calcium carbonate. Crystals my leach something, not sure.

It will be fine. Clean the crystal or crystals before you drop it into the tank. If you want to get all scientific about it. The differance between glass and crystal, lead is used in the process of making crystal. The lead will not leach. :)
