tank soared to 92 degrees

tank soared from 78 to 92 degrees, my green bta gapping like hell, lost 75 percent of its foot holding , i putted a brs big botttle of ice to cool it down , whats other things can i do to minize lost? bta might die possible =/
my dog knocked my temp and ph sensor of the tank...

If the temp has stabled back out, not sure what else you can do, but to ride it out.

Moving forward might want to look into a temp controller.

Hope all your livestock pulls thru.

not sure whether to take out anemone out , because i wont be home tuesday to observe.. and it might even crash the tank if left alone ....

Run a fan over the top of the tank.

The thing is - I guess - why did it get to 92 in the first place. I would correct that. A controller maybe... But sad situation. The rest is watching and waiting...

Just a guess but sounds like you had the heater on a controller and the temp probe got knocked out. Probe out of water read a much lower temp so the heater kept going and cooked the tank.

Would a temp controller help in a situation like this, though? This is one of my biggest fears, honestly. As Aquavaj (lol) mentioned, with the probe out of the water, it would read a much lower temp, and continue heating the water.

Throw some salt in with that ice. It cools quicker.
