What are the current recommendations for tank to sump turnover rate?

I have a Red Sea Reefer 425xl with a Vectra M1 currently set at 45%, that works out about 9x turnover. The issue I have is our tank is LPS only and everything is get too much flow even with my 2 Reefwave 45 turned off

Myself I tend to go with a 3-5x hourly turnover because everything just got blown around too much. I run my ReefWaves at a max of 50% during the peak (most of the time it's in the 30% range). There's a link to my ReefWave schedule on the first post of my build thread.

You probably find that 10-20% on your Reefwaves are plenty. Btw, I discovered that the Icecap battery backup (v3) works flawlessly with a pair of ReefWave 25/45s.

All my tanks are between 15 and 20 turn overs. Honestly anything between 5 and hurricane should be fine.

Do heaters keep up in winter? Years ago before pumps got stupid cheap, I had a low turn over set up and DT ended up being quite a bit cooler than sump. Also had to resort to a wave maker to keep sump from turning into a sludge factory.

my heat seems to be pretty good in it i have the probs for heats in the overflow part entering my sump . i think i only dip down .5 at most but i do have a little more flow going in the sump with uv and reactors going
