I’m upgrading to an IM 25 gallon lagoon tank from my 14 gallon biocube. I plan on upgrading to completely new equipment and looking for recommendations. The only thing I play on reusing is my ATO and heater.

Looking for information for the following equipment
-Light
-skimmer/fleece roller
-just general filtration advice
-doser
- anything else anyone can think off.

My live stock will be made up 2 clowns, 2 ruby red dragonets. I have a copepod culture and the dragonets eat frozen and I’m well aware of my challenge there. Can I add anymore fish to the tank?

Coral selection will be heavy LPS dominant Chalices, Micromussa/ Acans, hammers and torches.
I have a few mushrooms and plan on making an isolated zoa garden.

As for SPS I only have one currently but would like to try a couple more. Will have to place carefully with my scape.

Just looking for any recommendations because I really want to make this tank amazing.

Thanks and happy reefing

I'll try my best here....

-Light: I'm a big fan of the Nicrew Gen 2 Hyperreefs now that I'm using one. A single 100w on this tank will grow SPS. (My PAR meter says it will at least).

-skimmer/fleece roller: Big fan of the IOAOI line up of skimmers, budget friendly too. I'm not a fan of fleece rollers. I just don't like the idea of adding one more thing I need to fiddle with and buy maintenance items for. I like baskets that I can throw filter floss into and replace as needed.

-just general filtration advice: Goes back to the filter floss thing. I subscribe to the KISS method. Keep it as simple as possible so there's less to go wrong. Some sort of basic mechanical filtration and a skimmer is all I like to run.

-doser: I'm a fan of the Kamoer's. I'm using the F1 model dosing TM All For Reef which will take care of the big 3 and trace as well. The Kamoer is easy to setup and their app is intuitive.

- anything else anyone can think off: I guess going back to keeping things simple, avoiding the marketing hype of bottled products, they've only made my life harder over the many years I've been doing this. Only thing I like is a starter bacteria like Dr. Tims or Fritz Turbo Start 900.

I run the 25 Lagoon with a single Radion XR15, previously Nicrew Gen 2-100W. Both lights do well. I don’t have any filtration other than filter floss. I use the Nero3 power head.

How did you mount the XR15?
