After reading here I thought it might be interesting to share my reef with you guys as well

As I moved into a new house 2 years ago, I also set up a new tank. Slightly smaller as I did not have more space, but I tried to make best out of it. The new tank is built in a wall in the living room and still contains about 600 litres of water...

Just as the previous tank, the tank was set up as a fish tank which also contains corals. While I like the corals a lot, the fish are even more tempting.... Here are some of the inhabitants I am particularly proud of:

Centropyge colini (I have two, but they are no pair yet)

Oxymonacanthus halli (pair, they even lay eggs!)

Chaetodon tinkeri

Pygoplites diacanthus, I got this fish in 2003

N. helfrichi and M. choati over three Tridacna squamosa

Chaetodon larvatus. I got this fish on December 7th 2016. Apart from grazing on the coral polyps, I got it to fatten up by feeding it fresh oysters every day. Needless to say this is definitely the most difficult fish in my tank. With the right attention, I feel it will stay with me for many years to come.

Gramma dejongi - right before its introduction to the tank.

Top notch!
Really captivating natural style to the coral placement.
What sort of inhabitants have you got in there?
edit: Answered my question before I could finish posting! :D

^ I agree. Very nice! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the compliments :)
Holy smokes, Tanne!

That tank is pure inspiration for a fellow fish-fan. Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks... I have developed from a all-round reefer, to a sps-freak to a fish-fan who could not do without sps :D

Here's a small video of the tank:

i like the way you position the powerhead. it's hidden away from the view and give the tank a very clean natural look

Wow, that is a fish collection that'll leave anyone impressed! With that many corralivores, have you noticed any amount of stress in your corals?

Thanks, that is what I aim for :)

Thanks. There is some stress in the corals, but do keep in mind I just keep a lot of corals and I aim to keep whatever grows. I don't really care anymore to have the rarest/hardest Aussi pieces. The main thing I see is no more PE on some sps corals during the day. With these fish, I just don't care about the fluffy stuff on the coloured sticks :D

Was the gramma hard to get? In the US it's not possible.
It is not really hard to get here, you just have to pay. The fish is named after Arie de Jong, owner/director of www.dejongmarinelife.nl, one of the largest wholesalers in Europe. He has some more in stock; see the video I shot last month:

How's the dejongi doing? I can't wait for those guys to become available
It is doing very well. It was very shy at the beginning, the group of Gramma loreto didn't help either. Now, after about a month, I see it nearly all day long. It is a beautiful fish, especially when viewed in real life.

I think it will not take very long before they'll become available in the US. I know Todd Gardner has already bred them with succes and the trade restrictions between the US and Cuba are loosening.

Here's a small video I shot when introducing mine in my tank:

Nice Tank.... Tang police? They sure look happy.
More like... Foxface police. I introduced that fish in order to combat Valonia. It is high on the list to be moved to a friends larger reef. Many of the fish even spawn, but indeed the tank is a bit crowded. If you watch the video, you'll notice most fish do look healthy and happy. Many of them have been with me over a decade as well...

Haha, unfortunately not me, as I'm still waiting (and re-saving) for one to become available here in the U.K.! Definitely a little show piece butterfly, but was inspirational to see it behaving amongst your coral collection :)
