Ok mixing my own water for the first time here and i have the BRS Stage 7 Filter. My TDS meter is showing 14 on line 1, 0 on line 2 and 0 on line 3. Does this mean im already hitting 0 by the 2nd line or is my meter reading wrong? I dont know why i guess i just kind of expected something to still be in line 2.

Your TDS is already pretty low. Whatever stage line 2 is coming after (carbon?) it seems like, yes, TDS is undetectable at that point... or maybe your sensors aren't hooked up properly. BRS has a video where they talk about RO/DI fails, and the right way to align the sensors, if you haven't seen it.

TDS alone isn't everything - that doesn't measure metals and all the other things that are rejected by the RO and absorbed by the DI stages. It just means your filter media will last that much longer.

Awesome thank you. It all came pre-assembled out of the box from BRS so i didnt have to mess with installing the TDS sensor just turning it on. Ill go look up the video though and make sure its all correct. I planned on taking the water to get it tested tomorrow as well for everything else then ill mix and start filling. Hopefully i just got lucky but i dont feel like running on luck lol

For 15 bucks on Amazon you can buy a TDS meter. Make sure that whatever vessel you are going to use to test the water with is 100% clean. Even the dust from a few days in the cabinet will give you a false reading.

Take your water directly from the hose of the outflow. For the same reason as above, The longer it sits the more it can become contaminated enough to give you a false reading.

You only need half an inch or so. You can collect that in a small jar in a few seconds.

I wound want to know the TDS of your source water. When you get your one measure that. My source water stays fairly constant but yours could vary. I am assuming your source water has higher tds with the 14 coming out of the membrane. The second reading will let you know when you need to replace the cation or anion resins and the third your mixed bed

Im learning this system so i Apologize for not putting this sooner.
The TDS readings im getting are in the DI sections. BRS set it up this way out of the box so by the time its reading 14 its gone through the Sediment filter, 2 carbon Filters and 2 membranes. So that 14 reading is at the Cation DI and im getting 0 out of the Anion and Mixed bed lines. My handheld TDS meter will be here today so im going to test right from the tap and then in the tank.
Ill post up results once i have them.
