I have an AquaticLife RO/DI with all filters and membrane changed on 7/1/20. I’ve collected maybe 20 gallons. I’m getting varied TDS readings and don’t know which to believe. I get zero TDS on the in-line probe, 6-11 with two different handheld meters if I collect water in a specimen cup and then off the charts if I collect in my brute container. I’ve heard of phosphates being elevated if water is left in a brute for too long but I’ve never heard of high tds. So which do I believe? (Keep in mind that all these filters are brand new.)

When was the last time you calibrated your hand held TDS meters? TDS will jump up when placed in a container like brute from what I was told. I scared myself when I tested water in my container after a day or 2, it was really high. Was told it is normal, and only worry about TDS being actually 0 when coming out of RODI.

They’re brand new, just got them last week, so I assume they came calibrated. How would I go about calibrating one anyway?

Be sure that both your specimen cup and brute container are throughly rinsed and clean. If they are dirty, the handhelds will read measurable TDS from any contaminants in the present in the containers.

My understanding is to calibrate a new TDS meter. I would definitely do it if I had different readings.
