I have the apex 2016 with all the stock probes.
They are all connected to the base unit and work well. I am trying to set up temp compensation for my salinity probe the same way I did for my PH probe. Is this possible? If so, How?

Yes its possible and here is how you should do it.

MANUAL CALIBRATION

Step 1:
Start by logging into your APEX Dashboard and clicking on the Three Gears Icon and then the INPUTS Icon

Step 2:
Select the SALT(BASE_COND) Option.

Step 3:
Ensure you have the Conductivity Probe securely plugged into the APEX.

Step 4:
Click on the ADVANCED option.

Set the "compensation" (in advanced) in the salinity probe to enabled to a "guess" value (2.2 is usually good for PM2 not sure if it differs on 2016 apex)

After setting this move forward to calibrate the salinity probe.

Ok. I have done that. So there is no automatic temp compensation like the PH probe?

fwiw I don't use temperature compensation at all, on any of the probes. I keep my tank water within a 1 degree F or smaller range at all times, and probes are calibrated at tank temperature. (Manual calibration only; don't use automatic, you'll regret it.) My probe readings are pretty much always on target and behave as expected, aside from the occasional snail that crawls over a pH probe, lowering its reading transiently. :)

I know there are good arguments for using temperature compensation, though. I'm open to being convinced and if so, I'll try it out at the next semi-annual maintenance (which includes probe recalibration.)

Cool. Didn’t mean to hikack, lol. Just curious. I read a lot of bad reviews online but I really want one!
What apex do you have?
They are pretty fragile. I have broken them before by bumping it against the sump

I have the Jr. There’s room for it as far as modules and the only other one I would add is the Leak detection kit.
