Due to an equipment malfunction, I just 'caught' a temperature spike that reached a high of 88.3F. It certainly wasn't that high for long and once discovered, quickly (and presumably safely) brought back down. It is normally around 79F. Presently, neither corals or fish seem stressed. Questions: What's the highest your tank has ever spiked (and for how long) without any significant damage to your corals?

92 degrees here... Fan died and house overheated after a power outage. The AC unit decided to not come back on and caused the house to get to the upper 90s.

86 was the highest. my tank fluctutated between 72-82 for the past couple of months and everything is ok. I knew someone that went in crazy freak mode over tiny temp flucs or when it reached 80. whatever

That was the norm in the hobby for many years... "Experts" and authors in the industry really had the temperatrure thing messed up for a long period of time.

Well, so far so good after 24 hours. I'd expect some browning out but I'm happy to see no ill effects at all so far. Fingers still crossed though.
