I just wanted to make a post thanking everyone, new and old, on R2R. This past weekend, many of you know we lost a dear friend of our community member @Miami Reef. @AlyciaMarie and I have been pretty upset by not only losing a member of our community but also a friend as well. If there is one thing this tragic event has taught me is R2R is more than just a forum with a bunch of people sitting on their phones and computers messaging people. It is a thriving community where people all around the world can connect and talk about similar interests. It really has shifted my perspective from being here to help people or popping in and talking to people on buildthreads (Shout-out to my #Smorgasbord crew); but instead to develop a greater since of community with everyone here. For many people, Reef2Reef could be their only outlet to interact with people. This one website could be the main way people are able to connect with others. I encourage and challenge all of you as a community to lift each other up, be there for everyone, and let's develop a greater sense of community! Let's be different than other forums found on the internet!

I just finished a show in Michigan and my wife accompanied me for the first time ever. (She is not into reefing). Anyway, after the show, she said: “You talked more here than you ever do at home.” I said, “These are my peeps!” with a grin.
That definitely applies here as well. No matter who you are, what you do, or what you look like, if you are a Reefer, you are family to me. 🙂

I've never been much of a joiner of groups or activities. More of a loaner, private person. But I have come to feel a part of this group and very welcomed. I may not offer that much advice, frankly I don'i feel qualified to give much. I also don't really like to 'put myself out there' enough to do a tank thread or comment on every little thing.

But the sense of community here is very strong, and welcoming. That all starts from the top and works it's way down. So thank you to everyone who has a hand in keeping R2R running.

Amen 🙏 and well said @Gumbies R Us …we never know what the circumstances are of the lives of those we interact with and have never physically met! Caring for others whether here or in person should be what we strive for! 🤗😊
