There's 2 over flow towers right, yes. Get some black aquarium silicone tac a cpl corners well its laying down. Let dry. Than run ur beads. Wet your finger and wipe the excess off on a paper towel.
You can run your finger up and down the bead to clean it up and push it in a little.

You want to have the overflows as they help with surface skimming and keeping critters out of the overflows. I would first attach the pipes and then re-silicone the overflow boxes unless you want to go a different route (like strainer grates on the overflow pipes). It looks from the photos like your boxes have both high and low inlets which can be nice to have.

Been doing saltwater fish & inverts for many years. Wanting to up the interest in reefing. After moving & having our tank sit a couple years it up & running again. Just picked up a 120 with sump & this will be my first attempt using a sump. It came with overflows. But they are not installed. Do I need to silicon the m in? Are they needed? Tank is drilled & has the bulkheads & intake & return lines.

Have you considered starting your build thread? I found its a great place to document my tank's evolution for myself. I started tank first then joined, so I'm still finding myself going back collecting pictures & updating historically as well as current state. Once you create your first post in your thread and link it to your account, they will give you build badge (look left, under my ID)
