I was curious to learn more about this:

Instead of wondering and asking you what trace elements can be combined over and over. Is there a good test we can do to know if 2 DIY traces can be put together? I.E. mixing 2 DIY minor traces in a beaker and if you see precipitation you know its a no go?
 
Will this be posted as a video - there is a lot of people that was sleeping during the live performance.

Mixing and not seeing a precipitate is a decent thing to try. Not perfect, but if you do see a precipitate, it’s a no go.

The reason it’s not perfect is that trace elements such as iron can shuffle electrons between them. Changing, say, ferrous Fe++ iron to ferric Fe+++ iron that may be much less soluble when it hits tank water.

But’s it’s a good step!

I don't know what else besides alk and pH might be best raised above natural levels, but many folks keep some trace elements higher (e.g., iron).

On the stability question, I think there is a lot rolled into stability.

There seems to not be good evidence that alk stability is the huge benefit folks suggest IF the alternative is the same alk range every day. FOlks dosing once a day see good results, and claiming it is better if the alk flatlines 24/7 is not supported by any clear experiments. For example, 8.5 dKH day and 7.8 dKH night vs 8.2 dKH fixed 24/7.

As to pH, the daytime pH high may matter more than the nightly low (within reason) and a daily ph range with the same daily high as fixed ph may be just as good (or close to it).

We touched on that a bit in the live stream. .
