Hello REEF2REEF Family! Thanks in advance for reading. My new current build is a 100 G Crystal dynamics tank with starphire glass on 3 sides, modular marine external overflow, double top eurobrace and bottom pain eurobrace, armored silicone seams while sitting on one of their steel stands. It is a beauty that's for sure! This build will happen over the coarse of the next (hopefully 6;)) 6 - 8 months so hopefully random unscheduled updates will excite some of you. It will be a mixed tank like I run now but this time it will be more acro dominant, I have a thing for scolys, even the simple green ones that I own now. It will be bare bottom, I've only used sand 1 time in the beginning and I very quickly seen the bare bottom benefits. It's not for everyone but I have success with it. My tank now is fully automated by and apex and it's accessories EXCEPT ato reservoir filling and salt bin ro filling. All of this gear will transfer over to the new tank and ato and water change bins will be automated for filling, a lot don't agree with the full automation but I'm a busy man at work and my family comes first so automation is my thing. With that being said enjoy some pictures of the tank itself and feel free to ask any questions!!!

The sump and lights have been purchased, went slightly cheap on the sump. I ordered a trigger crystal 30, not a cheap sump by any means but nothing fancy. At the end of the day i do have a budget i have to follow im going with 2 radion gen3 pro’s from a friend for a decent price. Im excited for it to arrive. Plumbing is a couple weeks out. Orange pipe and sch 80 fittings and valves. Orange and grey for me because i am a neptune fan boy

The sump, lighting and wavemakers are here. Trigger crystal 30” sump nothing special, 2 vortech MP40’s for flow and 2 radion XR30’s for lighting. I will be upgrading the RF chip inside the radions so they can be controlled on the mobius app. Plumbing is a couple weeks out.

Playing around with sump and rollermat placement, i believe i have it figured out now by placing the rollermat at its lowest elevation possible behind the sump. Im now gearing up to paint the back of the sump white and manage the wires for the cabinet lighting, im a finish carpenter by trade and everything has to be clean for me lol. I will soon build my control panel to go behind the sump on the right side. All the plumbing will exit the stand between the control board and rollermat. It does not look like ill be plumbing it next weekend because of some new ideas but some of it might get done. Side note, i forgot to order Sch 80 couplings so 1 try is all i get, i was a plumber before being a carpenter so im not scared by any means lol we’re just gonna send it bud! External skimmer was not an option because of price, i refuse to own AC pump skimmers anymore. A Reef Octopus 150sss VarioS is on the way so, now it makes me question if i should still run a fuge? If so then, reactor like i wanted or use the sump space for fuge and if not fill that compartment with live rock? Decisions decisions...

I successfully upgraded the Gen 3 XR30 Pro to the mobius app by replacing the RF chip inside the light. That was a hassle for myself as well as others, had to update the light 3 times to get it to connect but all is good. Now to continue measuring out the stand for everything. I have no idea where my carbon and goo reactors will sit lol

This is a nice looking build. I just purchased the 4" Klir roller mat and am going to be setting that up hopefully something this weekend. What roller mat did you go with?
I have the first gen theiling. Big clunky thing but it works great! I wanted to go with the klir originally when i bought this one for my old tank but price point was an issue. I got this from a friend for super cheap.

i will update with pictures tomorrow, i ended up plumbing the tank today so i can work out the kinks. My manifold is not plumbed because im not sure exactly what to do yet but the tank is running with just tap water for now! The modular marine over flow is EXTREMELY quite!

Well here it is for now till i figure out a controller board. After plumbing it up i quickly realized i could not fit a controller board like i planned since we had rollermat and ato reserve spacing issues. It works fine for now of course. I dont like where my trident sits. Glass cover will be made for ato reserve and trident will sit on top of that. Refugium is holding like rock for now till some nutrients get built up. This is all real live rock thats been soaking and cycling for 9 months so no issues there. Fish went straight in! Corals will be transferred in 2-4 weeks once i get my numbers right. Hope to see ya’ll soon!

Long over due update! Picked up some new fish, new gear, got the corals transferred over, picking up more coral, more fish and new ideas! Ive got some new anthias in the tank for more movement. Picked up the neptune AFS so i can check pellet feeding off the list. Got some gfo and carbon running, im a huge fan of gfo cause of my heavy feeding. Im going to start biopellets very soon when i get more funding. Im trying to grow chateo now but its growing to slow. My tester acros are going in this weekend. We’ll see how that goes!
