How destructive are Queen Angels with SPS? I have seen adult emperor and other big angels in SPS tanks, but not sure about queens.

Where they come from they don’t have sps they normally have gorgonians and that so I think it would be fine because they have never seen sps before and won’t recognise it as a food source for them although I would say the same amount of risk as other fish in the same genus such as passer angelfish. I have one and it does not nip at all at sps and only did on a retracted one.

My biota angel. Also a model citizen with my sps. Almost 3 inches now and eats like a pig.

I had a queen for 8 months and it didnt touch any of my SPS. I got rid of it because it found a taste for my LPS. ONce it did it went after all of the LPS.

I have a Lamarck angel that has become a bully. My foxface and blue tang put up with him but my anthias is constantly hiding. If I put another angel in with them would that distract the Lamarck or would it be best to remove the Lamarck?

I can't ask that question. Have you tried rearranging rock work? How large is your tank? Or mirrors on the tank?

I was just looking through pictures of the old reef I had like 14 years ago. Really miss the potters angel I had. My personal all time favorite fish I kept. Big angelfish coloration and patterns in a small angelfish package. Really would love to get another one someday

Got this Singapore angelfish yesterday. He's in QT and is still stressed and scared, but I have a good feeling. I think for the first time I'm going to see this fish eat in person since I've never had any success with this angelfish, much less seen one eat anything ever.

I've been very lucky with mine. She's been in the tank for four years, and was an enthusiastic feeder from day one. I've been told that the smaller they are, the better they adjust to tank life. I don't know how true this is, but she was tiny when I bought her.

That may be quite true for angelfish; they seem to be more adaptable to captivity as juveniles, and yours looks quite healthy. Is your angel in a reef tank?

Yes, it's a reef tank. Nothing in it that she can destroy though, just hardy soft corals, BTAs, GSPs and stuff.

I'm tempted to put it in my main tank with some soft corals; there's tons of live rock there, but I don't know how destructive it might be to the corals.

Mine's never been too destructive - but I think there has been at least one casualty: a duncan. She seems to be attracted to anything waving about (BTA tentacles excepted). She's tugged at the foxface's spines, pulled a firefish around by its long dorsal fin, and harrassed a torch (which she may have killed or I may have). Yours may be different mind, they're all individuals.

I had 2 regal angel fish. Both were small and ate well. I think you have a better chance of angels not eating your corals if they never get fed corals to begin with. Good luck with your angel
