Current Tank- Don't worry getting to this one 😁
  • Tank: WaterBox Marine X 90.3
  • Sump: Waterbox Glass 30 gallon
  • Lighting: Ecotech marine XR30 G6
  • Flow: 2× AI Nero 3s and 1 AI Gyre
  • Return: Red Sea ReefRun G2
  • Skimmer: Reef Octopus Essance 130
  • Heaters: 2× Ehiem Jagger 150w on an Inkbird ITC-308 WiFi controller
  • Rock: Existing rock from previous tanks and some of dry rock from my LFs
  • Substrate: Figi pink (which I hate due to it blowing around too much) Been slowing adding Special grade Argan as I lose sand to Vacuuming
I'll be adding to this thread more and more. Just wanted to start somewhere.
Take yall through my fish tank journey through the years. When I got the itch to start this hobby I bought a Biocube 32 and started the journey. As I learned more and more I started to regret this tank, because I like to build, modify, and tinker. That ontop of outgrowing it I sold it.
Here's a pic of the old Biocube 32

After selling the BioCube I bought a used 65 with a sump off facebook for $400. Now the fun starts I sanded it, re stained it, and build my own glass sump. It was metal Halide with T5s. And still one of my personal favorite tanks to this day.

Love that coral beauty. I lost mine during a tank transfer. It stopped eating after.

Well time went by my daughter got older, and for some random reason I decided to get back into the hobby.
Started searching for used tanks and ran across a JBJ 45 AIO. Messaged the guy and picked it up a few days later.
Man how has reefing changed. I was overwhelmed with all the new technology!
From those first tanks I posted LEDs were just coming out, I think only Radeon G1s were out and reef bright strips.
But anyway I jumped backed in Head first! I bought 2 AI primes, a UV sterilizer, a wifi controlled AI return pump, A MP10, and a protein skimmer. and started back into the journey.
I built a controller cabinet to house all my gadgets.

I loved my JBJ 45 but the size of a built in sump of an AIO was getting to me. If your sump is too small why not just make everything bigger. Hello Waterbox X 90.3
I did something I always wanted to do the best I could...And that's not let money be an option
Once I got the tank delivered I started setting it up in my office next to my JBJ to make the transfer easier. With each water change from the JBJ I put it into my new Waterbox. Just threw a heater and a power head in for now. Also took my ceramic media bag and tossed it in.
I started working on the new tank day by day. Here are some of the progress pictures I could find.
Tank built and leveled.

First gear installed, gotta have motion activated cabinet lights!
Also the 2 AI Primes off my JBJ just were not cutting it anymore. Sold them and bought a Radion XR30 Pro G6

Luckily all my rocks are glued so I was able to lift out the structures quite easily and just drop them into the new tank. I sucked out all my sand with a Shop Vac, rinsed it with Rodi and used it in the new tank. Hated how loud the AC Syncra Return pump was, replaced it with a Red sea reef run DC. Much better! Also went with another AI Nero 3, and an AI Orbit Gyre for more flow.
Started running into PO4 and Nitrate issues and started some GFO. Btw running media reactors off your return pump is a terrible idea.

Started on my ATO for an ATO project. Got my bulkhead in my Water drum and RODI line ran. Waiting on my Float sensor and solenoid to come in the mail to finish up.
