I've been in the aquarium hobby for 5 years; 3 freshwater and 2-ish saltwater. I was successful with high tech freshwater, so I got into saltwater as more of a challenge and I found it far more interesting.

Being that I was sophomore in HS when I started planning for this tank, it didn't get water in it till December of 2018, which was during my senior year. So it's been up a few months now.

The tank is mainly LPS and softies and I plan on having a FEW montis in the future. So far I haven't come across many hiccups or setbacks. I've had aiptasia but I now have a few berghia nudis to get rid of them. I also have a minor bubble algae problem I plan on taking on once the aiptasia are gone. But no coral losses so far, or any livestock losses either.

looks great definitely some good choices on corals. For bubble Algae emerald crabs and manual removal using a siphon hose. Looks like you may have to upgrade with all the corals lol.

Thanks! I want to upgrade within a few months, but sadly freshman year of college is starting up so I gotta save up.
Once my aptasia are gone I’m gonna pick up a handful of emerald crabs.

Won't need that many 1-2 will be fine i have two in a 40 breeder and 1 in a 12 gallon nano. Facebook reef groups are awesome for finding really good deals especially around summer when most ppl start cleaning out their garages and basements.

I'm in a few facebook groups but not many people near me are into the aquarium hobby, so I rarely see stuff for sale near me in groups and on the marketplace. The closest decent LFS is and hour and 15 mins away.

Sounds rough. Are you not in a major city?
