Small update.

Everything is fine :)
Elements consumption is very high at the moment so I will be changing over to Calcium Reactor, Sr and I are also being deplited quite fast I'm dosing 100ml of Strontium per week and 6.45ml/week of Iodine, this will go up with the change to calcium reactor but that's ok... at 53ml/day of Core7 is becoming unsustainable LOL

If you switch to a calcium reactor, how will you add the other trace elements?
I guess, Core7 is useless then.

Core7 is Ca, Mg, KH and trace elements ....With the calcium reactor I would simply raise my current single trace elements doses.

Pedro, beautiful reef as usual.
I have one question if you don't mind.
The Core7 has "elevated" trace elements to improve the macro algae refugium growth and health. Probably iron, manganese, etc.
How will you tackle this specific point? Have you already have an alternative product just for the refugium?

I would dose extra Triton Iron, Manganese....

Still I'm still deciding and I have been debating with Triton maintaining a residual dose of Core7 to stabilize pH and give the major KH maintenance to the reactor.

Well it has been a while since I posted an update of the system :/ mea culpa.

Maybe lack of time and dedication, but it's ok I got something nice to show. I know it's not just me that love a nice piece of equipment ahah

So here it is FINALLY the calcium reactor, installed in the 1st of March and since then the transition from Core7 to Ca reactor is done, and I'm now on my "new method" Core7 + Calcoum reactor.

What did I do ?

Added pH expantion module for the Profilux 4
GHL pH probe
GHL Doser Maxi (to feed the calcium reactor) yes.
GHL Solenoid
Co2 bottle a.K.A. fire extinguisher ahah
CaribSea ARM Coarse media
Vertex Calcium Reactor

How is it working?

Profilx is maintaining a pH inside the reactor between ~6.48 e ~6.6

The doser Maxi at the moment is dosing 650ml 48x per day this gives me a 1,3L/h of water flowing trough the reactor, if I need to raise the dKh I'll just raise this dose and if I need to reduce the dKh I'll reduce it.

Core7 came down from 50ml/day to 12ml/day it will stay this way since it seems to be the ideal dosage to maintain a stable pH inside the tank ( Ca Rx pH acid vs Core7 pH basic).

dKh is stable at a value of 7 dKh controlled by the KH Director, a very important piece of the puzzle that gave me a lot of peace of mind throughout the change over.

The system is now 100% automated the only thing I can't control is the co2 cubble count (but that's alright) ahah

Finally some photos of the sump area plus some news that will come up in future updates ;)

Things are stable, the reactor is working perfectly with a rock steady KH of 7.2 dKh

just got ICP reasults, have some major things to adjust as expected with the reduction of the Core7 dosage but it's alright, let's do this.

P.S. Reactor + Core7 = super stable pH

Or is the KH Director only there for monitoring.

Why do you still use the Core7?
If you dose only 12ml per day, compared with 32.1L per day from the reactor, it seems to be a very very small portion to actually help to maintain pH stable and higher.

Last question... what else are you dosing as I see 3 x 4-head GHL Dosers in total.
One will be for the KH Director I guess.
The other 8 pumps?

Well ideally GHL would add that function... but for now I have KH director controlling core7 for the small adjustments.

Well I never had such a stable pH so I think will keep the core7 even for the little traces it adds.

For the other doses I'm doing: trace mix, Triton biobase ULNS and Triton Sr still got 2 spares hehe
