UPDATE.

All the corals are good and growing 1month after the blackout... no dinos showing up :D :D just had a little stress... my mistake high salinity I think it was Core7 related and me forgetting to take water out but it's now solved and back to track.

Last week I went to Porto, Portugal to grab more frags... and since I'm running out of space I had to do a little re-scape I think it's fine now ahaha

So check out the current look :)

Time for some top down shots, still with the FTS lens the Fuji 16-55mm f/2.8 with the Fujifilm Cameras X-T20

All shot in RAW post processed in Lightroom.

Photography Geek out.

The tank has been stable, with some minor issues (a bit of cyano... and sometimes a tiny bit of STN on certain corais not sure if it's because of shading or something else...) the ICP testing is very good and parameters are stable.

New fish coming this week... wish me luck ahah

BIG update coming this later this week or early next week, stay tuned. ;)

Pedro

Pedro.

I wanted to pick your brain if possible... I just got a xt20 with 10-55 as well but I’m not that familiar with photography.

What settings are you using?
Do you use a camera tube? If so which one? ( the tripod insert is off center so I don’t know if they fit)
Do you use mf or auto?

Sorry for the excessive questioning. I’m just a huge fan of your photography skills and a avid follower of your page.

thank you so much :) :)

no problem, 10-55mm is good for FTS maybe some macros but it needs editing and cropping ;)

Settings... full manual
f/6 depends this dictates depth of field
~200 shutter speed
ISO lowest you can but XT20 an handle 1000 ISO with low noise so anything around that...
shoot in RAW... edit in lightroom

I use a BAO camera tube, it's the best but if the lens is too fat you notice the not centered tripod insert ahha

MF or AF depends on the situation but for coral I normally use MF with focus assist.

Pedro :)

Hello reefers :)

KH Director update and top-down coral photography

When I installed the @GHL KH Director I posted some photos and not much more... so let's start the 6months review ;)

The measures have been rock solid, very accurate with my Hanna that I cross check sometimes... (0.03dKh-0.15dKh variations from the Hanna) so not much "error" maybe the KHD is even more precise than the Hanna hummm

P4 + KH Director is also controlling my KH automatically for more than 2months keeping it very stable :) like you can observe on the graph below :)

And now some top-down coral photography :)

I appreciate the help. I need to mess around some more with the camera to familiarize myself!

I see you’re posting your experience with the kh director. What negatives have you experienced?

Well the previous reagent tube that GHL was using gave some strange results over time but that is fixed now... the new tubing makes it rock solid.
