I’ve got this large gorilla crab in my sump I call The Menace. I’ve grown quite attached to it. I posted in another thread about how it snipped through the power cord for my heater in my sump a while back. About a month ago it ripped through the airline on the skimmer. While he was pinching at it, the skimmer overflowed. It was damaged enough that I had to cut it so that I could reattach it. Last night he went at the airline again, cut it up, and there’s not enough slack to reattach anymore. His punishment might be getting his own aio tank to keep him from getting at all the stuff in my sump.

Just thought I’d share. The Menace!:

With it being such a PITA I am surprised you are so attached to The Menace LoL...
He’s an exciting critter. He’s like the kool aid man when he smashes around through the macro algae’s when there’s food in the tank. Visitors spend as much time watching him as they do the display. Doesn’t mean you’re not right.

The menace is mia. I’d hate to lose him. Dug through all the macro. No molt, body, or suspects. People are talking...

I had a menace once...An emerald crab that went around doing whatever he wanted. Killing fish and picking polyps off my acros.

He wound up in the upside down and morphed into a grotesque, grey, creature that eats detritus.

I love this post lol not for your heartache but for you keeping him so long. He would have met the backyard god long ago if I had him.

I set up a tank for the menace. Waiting for him to show himself after this last molting so I can move him in.

If you don’t hear from me again, don’t come looking for me without one of these.

I think of using those on my pistol shrimp. It keeps ruining stuff in my main aquarium. Bringing frags under rocks and stuff ... ☝️

Set up this dope old tank for the menace.

he doesn’t really like it. I thought he’d be smashing around like a boss, but he just hides. Pretty sure he ripped out a hunk of silicone on the back wall. image.jpg image.jpg
