The Miracle Tank

Which tang?

The problem with Pukani rock is that it is so porous it takes forever to mature. Fully mature. I have 170 lbs of the stuff and after 2 years of it being in my display it still isn't fully mature. I can take a piece, lift it, turn it 180 degrees, and it will look like I just put it in. I recently took a rock out and split it in half and the inside was as good as I put it in on day one. I expected the inside split to be like that but the nooks and crannies? Forget it.

Affordable when it was available but boy does it take forever to mature. I'd never recommend or use dry rock again.
Mine was in salt water for 5 years. It is pest free though. :-)

Using a syringe, mix kalkwasser powder into a thin paste and inject into center core of aptasia and watch them melt
Will that make them spread.

It can, just like lemon juice, joe's juice, and aiptasia-x. I'm on board with Katrina's plan, introduce a few berghia noodlebranches and let them do what nature dictates.

Hooray obligate feeders!
Will a leapord wipe them out. I know how I ended up them. My green finger leather had some on the rock. I superglued them must not been in time.

If it is just a few small ones, I recommend “F Aiptasia.” It encrusts them and I have never gad one come back. That Aiptasia X junk is a joke.
F aptasia. I love the name. Encrusts them? I like super glue.

The old packaging. :-)

Lol. Well that sort of goes out the window the first time you add a coral :)

Well, let me maybe correct that a bit. It is my belief that try as hard as we do by using dry rock and strict introduction protocols pets still get in. There is no stopping Mother Nature :D I mean I started with 170 lbs of dry pukani and I have Aptasia. It is possible it came in from my previous display that I upgraded but I do not recall seeing any.

Be that as it may just my take on things. I do know my daughter was happy I didn't raid her college fund for the TBS rock I originally planned - lol.

And to think of when we got those live rocks from Walt Smith loaded with all sorts of stuff back in the 90s and before. I do miss those days of cool stuff growing in your tank that you didn't buy.

That was the best ever!
