After playing around with the background film, I decided on the thicker frosted look. It just looks the best. It looks clean and elegant by day. It does mute the background lighting a little, but still looks really good.

Look at the YouTube video at SaltwaterAquarium. Ours will be more subtle. I just liked a more solid look with the overflow.

It just looked too broken up by day with the more transparent film.

That is the key, when the tank is lit. The solid white overflow will blend better overall with a more solid frost. If I recal you were planning to let a coral grow over the overflow? Maybe you could mount a tiny projector in the canopy too ;)

Speaking of numbers...other people have a thing for numbers too. My cookies sell 56% better than when other people make them. Ice cream sales are up 34% when I work, and overall sales increase by 17%. The bottom line is $$$.

Does a real reefer spend money or save money? Buy the best on the market or DIY? QT everything or barely acclimate? Test daily or never? Controller or manual top off? Etc., etc. All methods are successful and all methods fail.
