As someone who’s fallen prey to tick borne illness I can urge anyone who cares for their health to do thorough and regular tick checks - even lone star’s carry other pathogens and the year + you lose isn’t worth it!
 
Andrew got his first tick. The Lone Star tick. Had no idea ticks carry diseases that make humans allergic to red meat.
Yes- lyme disease and other effects. Supposed to be a bad year for them nationwide

This is no joke. My kids learned at a young age to always check for ticks. Especially if we hike or camp. When we get home the clothes come off and we check everywhere. Also remember to check your pets! Our dog Toby gets a couple of ticks a month. He loves investigating bushes and outdoor plants on his walks and he is checked regularly.
