Well I started my first salt tank in 2004. It was a garage sale 55 g with 2 55gHot filters from Walmart.
5 bags of live sand from live aquaria
1 Atlantic blue tang
1 Beau Gregory damsel
And a group of 4 green chromis that I couldn't keep alive.
Over the years I moved to a new 55 gal then a 60gal bow front with canister filter and a remora hob protein skimmer.
Then I found a 180 used tank with cabinet and hood...which is where I am now...this crazy build has been too long and never stable until September 2019 when we switched out substrate.
Now FINALLY livestock survives and even soft corals seem to be doing well when not being nibbled by an angel fish or lunare wrasse.

There is one 30g sump and one 40g sump connected in the middle.. we keep them half full of water. I use bio balls on the refugium side in one channel. The fuge has mangroves in it as well as a healthy crop of Caulerpa lentillifera. Which I pull out clumps of weekly.

An accel pellet reactor on the outside, seneye, DC skimmer, matrix, and ceramic media sit in the other sump.
The skimmer is working beautifully with the pellet reactor pulling noxious poo / nitrate / phosphate out like crazy. Yes I'm going to empty and clean it now...blech

There are some "corals" in here but I'm not sure what all of them are called.
Other members in Ne. Have said this is a Duncan? He just sprouted a new "flower" this week.

I have no idea what this "twig" is but he seems happy since I stuck him into a place no one could move him anymore.
