I'm thinking we should award some companies with a best of the best awards for products for 2019 from our community! I would like to recognize the types of equipment that the majority of users use like lighting, return pumps, skimmers, RO/DI, etc. I need your help is deciding what we should allow the community to vote on to decide the best of the best for 2019.

So let me know what equipment categories or services you think we should vote on! After that I'll set up nomination threads and then after that polls. At the end we will declare the winners!

I would add lighting, protien skimmers, return pumps, heaters. Just the basics, but very important to start with equipment.

You could even think about filtration as well. This could include LR, filter floss, bio blocks, carbon, GFO, etc.

I like the idea of “large net” categories like filtration, lighting, flow, control devices, fish, coral, etc.

Also categories like best new vendor, most innovative, best customer service, etc.

Problem with "best of" is we just vote for what we like with little thought of what is truly best (the best return pumps is a good example with Eheim and Iwaki with less than stellar results in the poll when they're hands down some of the absolute best in the industry and have been for 40 years).
