Ok so starting my first build thread. It seems like everyone has one and I definitely want to be one of the cool kids. Getting back into the hobby after 9 years away.

Red Sea Reefer 200xl
Reef LED 90
Reefwave 25
Red Sea skimmer 300 I think
30 lbs of CaribSea Life Rock
2 inches of CaribSea Arag-Alive black sand
Red Sea Coral Pro Salt

Cycled with Fitz Turbo and Dr. Tim’s Ammonia

Last water params were:
SG 1.025
Temp 77 degrees
Ammonia 0.0
Nitrates 4.26
Phosphates 0.0
Alk 10

Still waiting for my pH checker to arrive in the mail so I’ll get back on that one.
I currently have 2 juvenile snowflake clowns in QT chilling out. It’s a very small QT (5 gal) but all I have space for so I’m making do.

CUC will be arriving later this week. I’ve chosen mainly snails at this point. I am hoping to have a mixed reef.

So I think that’s about it, I appreciate any input, I’m sure someone will let me know if I’ve forgotten anything. :)

Thanks for checking out my build!

Rescued a BTA from a terrible death at the LFS. It floated around the tank for a few hours then settled in the back corner of the tank and pouted for a few days. Today he has crawled up to just below the water line and is wedged between the glass and my magnet glass cleaner. Seems to be pretty happy there. Wierdo.

Having an issue with my ATO in this system. I have removed the valve below, and now the float system looks like this. I am still having issues dialing it in, but it was pointed out to me by another member that perhaps it’s my return pump or gate valve that aren’t dialed in. Hmmmm…

Nice Build. Now you are one of the "cool kids". I used to have my build thread up, but when R2R switched over I never started a new one.

Looking good! Welcome to the cube club! Dont worry about the clowns they will find the Nem. They always do. These wacky tank bread clowns always take some time. They have to learn they instinctually like it or something haha.

Thanks! They are juveniles so the tank is a pretty big space for them right now. They are wacky for sure!

Lid by Kraken Reef arrived today. I’m pretty excited about it. Will put my first two fish in tomorrow!

Awesome lid! I have the screen brs lid and it is not what I expected. I am going to look at this one for my 45 frag system to replace it.

GUYS! The clowns found the nem today! I am so stoked! In my former reefing life my clowns would never host anything, they just wanted to lay eggs on every available surface. So I’m pretty sure I have an unhealthy level of excitement over this. :p

I was considering setting up my Red Sea Reef Dose tonight but after testing my water decided to wait. Calcium was 552, Mg was 1410, Alk was 9.8.

I have new coral coming as well as a Watchman Goby late next week.

I now have the tiniest little ywg ever in my QT tank. The shrimp in my display seems a bit lost and is trying to burrow in the front corner of the tank with it’s tail against the glass. I hope he looks for a better spot than that! A pic of the goby and my new coral.

Came home from work last night to find my snails eating my shrimp. Apparently he perished sometime during the day. ;Dead Not sure why this happened, my params are good and I thought I had acclimated him slowly enough but maybe not? Bummer. The coral I recently added are doing well and the little goby in QT looks great.
