I joined this forum probably about a month ago and have been doing nothing but reading. Thanks for a brilliant resource!
I'm not one of those jump in the pool with two feet kind of guy. I like to accumulate knowledge first, then hope to be able to use that knowledge towards success.
I have been INCREDIBLY overwhelmed with the amount of knowledge available out there, so have been picking a few topics at a time to learn and then move on to the next few topics, then go back and read some more about the first few topics, then go for some new ones...back and forth, etc.
Just to let you know, for someone like me, I'm LOVING this experience, despite not having bought anything to start things up.
The first thing I picked, and will eventually buy, is a IM Fusion 25G Lagoon tank. I think it will be the perfect way to introduce myself to the hobby, at a price I can afford, and hopefully as time goes on, will teach ,me what I need to know to be a successful reef tank owner. My primary goal is to be kind to the animals I will be taking care of (more on that much later), and make sure they live a happy, safe life.
Right now, I'm waiting on a custom cabinet I designed with a good friend, who is a cabinet maker and a true artist with woodworking. Once that comes in, things should start to progress. I would also like to start a series on YouTube as an absolute newbie, to catalogue my journey, and also to help compartmentalize what I've learned, and how it is working in the real world.
Thanks to everyone on this site for such an amazing resource, and much more to come as the project unfolds!
