I have two button scolys, both sold as Micromussa Pacifica, that look different to me? Are these both the same, or do you think that they’re two different corals?

The first one I got was the orange and green one. It puffs up big and wide, lying flesh out over the sand. The second red one I got a few weeks ago. It puffs up, but doesn’t extend out over the sand. They also look different at night when they have their feeding tentacles out.
The first feeding pic is the orange and green one. Second is the red.

Probably just variation within species. Button scolys being Micromussa pacifica is just speculation; the Western Australian population hasn't been molecularly sequenced yet, and there is some morphological evidence to suggest that they are not conspecific with pacifica.

I just want that red one to inflate like the other one! ;)
I have 3 plates, they all act differently depending on the day.

If its fairly new give it more time, I suspect it will inflate like the other if it is indeed the same type of coral.
