You gonna heat that tank tonight?

In the last two days, the high temperature has been 37 degrees. When the cold front blew in, I initially covered tank top with cardboard that got moved by wind and spilled out 5G of water with water surface exposed to 30 mph winds at 30 degrees. This was at 10PM. I added 78 degree water from tanks inside and left the Gale on my north porch to go to bed. The next morning at 4:30AM, water temperature was
53 degrees and air temperature was 26 degrees.

During the daylight on Monday, I properly wrapped up top of tank. Two heat inputs into tank are 300W
resistive heater set at 69 degrees & geothermal loop using 77.1 degree ground water from 1000’ at a flow rate of 2L/minute.
This morning at 0445 hrs, the outside temperature is 25 degrees with water at 59 degrees. The tang is grazing & behaving normal with no signs of stress.

Neat. Why is orange ear blue?

So, is the osculum the feeding port?

it's the lighting I should have turned on the whites before taking the video

osculum are the discharge ports, so I assume if they aren't open then it's digesting or some other reason, I'm not sure if it's bad that they sometimes stay closed, or if that's normal. I haven't been able to find much literature on sponges with "film like/transparent" osculum like these orange ear sponges.

I think open discharge ports are always good. The opposite always ends bad when things back up.

Since we are in the R&D Department for the SpongeBob Club, I will post the transfer of baby elephant ear from a tank with flatworms to outside Sponge Lagoon.

0804 hrs
Outside air at 31
Water at 72.6

Just received a shipment of macro algae and sponges. I have adjusted my invert receiving protocoal to include isolation for observation in 55G tank with 40W UV Sterilizer.

I recently consolidated The Three Amigoes into 10 year mature growout tank where I receive livestock. While not a quarantine &:treatment tank, it does have one of the few UV Sterilizers that I use.
